Medical Office Administration Video

Computerized billing is a major component of medical office administration. Computerized billing software is the systematized collection of patient information that is electronically stored in a digital format. Hunter students learn how to register new patients, input demographic information, and search for existing patient information.

Other skills include scheduling within an electronic medical record (EMR) system and adding patient history. Social history, family history, and sensitive information are all part of a patient’s historical record.

Students learn also how to take down and document vital signs. You can see an example of this on the video.

Other aspects of computerized billing comprise posting immunization records, entering prescriptions and copayments, and handling the billing, itself.
