Important Message for All Hunter Business School Students

Please read the following information regarding the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation!

Temporary Campus Closing

New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo signed an executive order mandating that, with the exemption of essential services, businesses that rely on in-office personnel must decrease their workforce by 75 percent to help contain the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus).

Students are asked not to return to campus until further notice. All classes have transitioned to distance learning education.

For that reason—and because the faculty and staff at Hunter deeply care about the health and well-being of their students and fellow coworkers—both the Levittown and Medford campuses will temporarily close on Friday, March 20, and are expected to reopen on Thursday, April 2.

News and Updates

As you are already aware, this is a very fluid situation, and circumstances change daily. Please check our website and Facebook page frequently for any developments or updates.

If you are a current student, please monitor your texts and emails. These are additional methods in which we will be communicating with you.

Live Streaming Classes

Though our daily lives have changed tremendously, this does not mean we have to stop moving forward. To that end, all academic departments have arranged with their students to provide temporary online training while the campuses are closed. Instructors remain available to their students through Google Classroom.

All hands-on classes will begin once the campuses reopen.

Admissions, Career Services, and Financial Aid

The Admissions, Career Services, and Financial Aid departments will continue to do business, though remotely. Each representative and advisor will be checking voicemail and emails throughout the time the campuses are shut down.

Leave of Absence

A Leave of Absence form should be completed only if a student feels distance learning is not satisfying his or her educational needs. Remember that live streaming classes are only temporary in light of the current situation.

Tap here to submit a Leave of Absence form online. Please note that you must be logged into your Hunter email account in order to access it.

Contact Information

You can contact the school during this downtime as if campuses were still open. Staff and faculty check voicemail and emails and will continue to respond to them.

Students should reach out to their instructors and may also contact Dr. Blanchard in Levittown and Chuck Copt in Medford. You may also send messages through the Hunter website by tapping here.

We Care

The employees at Hunter Business School come to work every day because they devoted their professional careers to education, and that means students. Every department develops relationships with our students, and we at Hunter genuinely do not want to see any of them, their families, or friends be in discomfort or sickness. Even though we’ll be at a distance during this brief period, we’ll still be here for you. Remember that.

Please accept our best wishes in making it through this crisis in health and comfort.
