Think Pink (Eve)

October 19, 2017

The fourth day of Medical Assistants Recognition Week turns our attention to breast cancer.

Incorporate pink into your clothing tonight to show support for the cause.

According to the American Cancer Society, “Breast cancer starts when cells in the breast begin to grow out of control. These cells usually form a tumor that can often be seen on an x-ray or felt as a lump.

“The tumor is malignant (cancer) if the cells can grow into (invade) surrounding tissues or spread (metastasize) to distant areas of the body. Breast cancer occurs almost entirely in women, but men can get breast cancer, too.”

Students may dress down tonight for a mere $1.

Raffle tickets will be distributed today—and every day this week—to all Medical Assistant students.

Pocket-size books related to medical assisting are the prizes and will go to three students each day of Medical Assistants Recognition Week.

In addition, there will be a drawing for a one-year subscription to CMA Today, magazine of the American Association of Medical Assistants, tomorrow.
