Autism Ribbon Sale (L)

April 16, 2018

Always unique, totally interesting, sometimes mysterious

Daytime Student Council holds a ribbon sale today in honor of National Autism Awareness Month. Each ribbon costs a dollar. Ribbons are being sold in the student lounge. The money collected is to be donated to Autism Speaks. Wear the ribbon with pride, and show your support.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex developmental disability. Signs typically appear during early childhood and affect a person’s ability to communicate and interact with others. [Autism Society]

The puzzle pattern of the ribbon reflects the mystery and complexity of autism. The different colors and shapes represent the diversity of people and families living with this disorder. The brightness of the ribbon signals hope—hope through research and increasing awareness in people like you.
