Hunter Business School administers onsite certification exams for Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, ECG (EKG) Technician, and Insurance and Coding Specialist through the National Center for Competency Testing. For tests through other certifying agencies with which the school is associated, please see Gloriann Luttrell. Hunter will credit $90 toward the registration fee for any of the Medical Assistant exams as long as the student has achieved attendance of at least 90 percent by the last day of the program, excluding makeup time.
Anyone planning to take the American Association of Medical Assistants or American Medical Technologists Medical Assistant tests or any exams for Medical Billing Specialist must pay any fees not covered by the aforementioned to Gloriann.
Can you hear us now? Join Hunter’s Student Council and be heard. We’re always looking for new members to represent the student population.
The Student Council is where you can bring suggestions, ideas, and concerns about the school to the table. Topics discussed include fundraisers, holiday parties, student issues and concerns, and event planning.
You can add your volunteer services to such documents as job applications and résumés. And in this tough job market, employers are looking for such things! Certificates are given to those students who participate in Student Council. These certificates look great in your portfolio when you begin interviewing!
Keep in mind that Student Council is all about helping fellow students, fundraising, donating time and energy, and creativity. Members are asked to bring new and novel ideas to each meeting. Please come to a meeting and help make a difference in your school. First timers are welcome. Remember: our goal is to make students’ time at Hunter a rewarding experience.
Meeting will take place in room 6.
Today Seargent Kenneth Ordoñez gives students background in postraumatic stress disorder, or PTSD. Details to follow.
This is a regular school day, so all students are required to attend. Stay tuned for details.
Assistance regarding applications for jobs online will take place in room 12. Being able to apply for employment on line is a very common requirement these days. If you need help, contact the Career Services department for one-on-one tutoring.
